Green Goddesses efforts didn't raise the Framar,

On Sunday the Green Goddesses Turned up to attempt to save the boat, overlooked by the chief of the fire brigade himself.
Their help doesn't go without appreciation to their abilities.  It's not a fail in my eyes, it's the boat that' is failing us at this point.
Every body was saddened when even though they attempted beyond amazing effort, the true impact about the sinking changed from simple to serious.
They used good old reliable 1930s equipment.
Water was pumped out at a productive rate, for a good while But try as they might, the water relentlessly replaced the water that was pumped out.
It now seems that, what ever the cause of her sinking, it was a severe and more serious than originally thought.
Now it's onto plan C, as the respected relations of the people that would have used the Framar back in the day and reached the age of 79,
It was our hope that we could help the Framar be restored to celibate her 80th Birthday in 2017, the sinking was a knock back and this means we have until next years boating season to make her look like she used to look during her 1930s adventures.

Now after the hearts of so many people are on edge as we wonder how this boat will get saved.
Now the Navy are showing interest in helping save the boat in respect of their ancestors,

David and his son are no way tight fist-ted, and not just people trying to get a freebies.
They are just 2 people trying to help the boat become an heritage boat after huge damages after vandalism an this caused no end of complications, one after another,
They both had  tolerate so much and risk to their own lives in doing so,
Dean has walking issues and needs walking aids to get about, and David has health issues too,
The only reason they endured so much, is to ensure they keep their foot in the door to ensure the boat will for-fill their Dream of becoming a floating attraction,museum as part of the River and Railway heritage center that is to be located on Brayford pool near old signal house.
The boat will act as a floating memorial that can be respected by all the passionate  people who can relate to the time of their heroes.
Every body right now is helping the boat write  history for the people of the future.
And will never  be forgotten as the people who saved Framar.

Will Framar Be saved? Only time will tell

Today is thee Day the people who helped save the Framar from the Depths  of River Withem.
The people that are coming to save the day are in fact the Old Green Goddesses.
Famous for their unique way of problem solving whilst being professional and having high regards to public safety.

The recovery will be over looked by a Chief of the Fire brigade to ensure no one will be risking there lives during this important recovery.
This was announced on the April the 1st, So people thought it was an april fools day joke.
They were so wrong.
It is the highest of importance  that the Framar is to be floating before the next day or the river will be made to rise and this would add even more problems that could cause the framar to to be lost forever.

No Luck so far for Framar

Sorry to have to tell you that so far raising the Framar has been a fail.
To make things even worst there are people who are ready to help raise the boat but unfortunately the boats Insurance is Clearly holding out on any funding support, putting a hold on her recovery.
David Bradford as put everything he had into the Framar as his passion to help the boat makes it to become part of a trust.
So the only way that the Framar can be saved Now is if Funding was offered to cover the cost so the boat can be recovered as soon as possible.
It has been said that the Framar has taken on water many time in her history.
So why there are so many negative people who say that it is it!  If it has been recovered in her past then what makes it different now?
There are lots of people who love the Framar and are willing to help her when she has been recovered, She even has a home offered while she is being restored by the nice people at the Railway Hotel.
By the way their customer care and breakfasts in the morning are outstanding.
Also it will be a great public place to meet and talk about the Framar's future.

Framar takes on water

The Framar has been through so much and David and his son Dean have been through so much to try and protect this boat so that it can become part of the River and Railway heritage trust for Lincolnshire.
After getting hit by many back falls and set backs caused by Vandalism in Lincoln the loss of all her original fenders and the Framar  life rings, and fuel drainage left the owners with endless problems that lead David and Dean to desperate life threatening moments that would put them both at serious risks to their own lives just to keep the boat alive.
David is Terminally ill and his son Dean who has walking trouble have not had any luck at all.
Saturday Morning Framar was spread around facebook that she has submerged.
Its expected that people will be meeting up from local communities to try and save this very historical boat.  "Its not until we start to lose something precious that we wake up and realize how important something is"
All the amazing stories this boat has to offer that is important and needs to be added to the educational plan giving schools a more colorful perspective of interests into our own history.
The weather has been mean but the main reason for her sinking was because impeller pipe complications that should offer a direct resolve as soon as she is drained.
This played its part in saving us during the war and now the tables have turned! This boat now needs the people to save her.
This boat can only be saved if we had a dedicated community of support to share the responsibility and care of the Framar.
 We can only hope that the Framar will be floating before the end of the day today so please follow this post and we will be able to keep you updated of her recovery,

Framar turns out to be historically linked to Lord Baden Powell

We got in-touch with a museum in the hope of getting evidence to show that Framar was involved in the Dunkirk evacuations. But in our response we found out something new that shows the Framar is a boat that needs to be saved as the following email shows:


Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately I can find no record of Framar taking part in the Dunkirk Evacuations. I have found her in 1939s Lloyd's Register of Yachts (see below), which confirms that she was built by J. Taylor in 1937 and shows she had two 8 cylinder Chrysler petrol engines, so she would have been a speedy boat. Her owner in 1939 was Capt. F. P. Marshall. He was a member of the Hayling Island Sailing Club, The Royal Southampton Yacht Club and The Old Carthusian Yacht Club
(whose Commodore in 1939 was Lord Baden-Powell and was a club for those who went to Charterhouse School). This indicates that Framar was probably based on the Solent or around Chichester harbour before the War.

So now we have this information it proves this boat needs saving so people ever forget her history.

If we can have her fully restored before 2017 we could celibate her 80th Birthday by having the framar go on a sea Adventure or do something epic that can be added to her History.

I Dean Bradford have wrote eight chapters of a Novel on this boat, the novel will be called Sunset Dreams, about a creative young boy who travels to the Isle of sky to stay with uncle after he leaves school to get away from disturbing issues, his uncle shows him the island via a microlite, but while his uncle is away on a business conference, this young boy watches the sun set as he dwells on issues he has left behind, and he is sure that he can see another land in the clouds, so one day he flies up by himself against his uncles knowLedge and travels to another land.
And makes a special friend, but what has happened?
Did he goto another land or is it just a dream?
I am writing this novel in away that makes the story very interesting yet very un predictable.
I have also re invented ways to move around my story using crossing path events, of objects and nature and his uncle has 3 pets, 2 ferrits and a Maw cat that together with the whole adventure make a really compelling story.

So helping me save the framar, also helps me finish my book.

The Rising of the Mary Rose

On Thursday i was at a Tes Auction in Skegness and i was on a bit of a bid battle to retain this awesome plaque.
In 1982 Mary Rose was recovered from the seabed  and this plaque was created to help this historical event.

 I know this has nothing to do with the Framar but it is very interesting and on the same subject of Historical boats, I do have a few more items that i may share on here in the near future.

Our story & our Bonding of this wonderful boat

Hello and welcome to my blog for this wonderful appreciation of this very special boat.
We have been very busy talking to many parties in the hope of securing and preserving this classic boat and bringing her the treatment it deserves.

2012 was a challenging year when we charted the boat from Langrick Bridge in Boston uk,

On our route we stopped by the white Horse for a wonderful Roast dinner and then we found a nice quiet place to moor up,
This was to be our 1st wake up to this wonderful world of nature,
We were all calm and really felt like it was the best waking moment of our lives.

After we woken up and were ready, we started making our way to Lincoln, we navigated 2 loch systems before we then reached the famous glory hole.

My mum got off the boat to do a bit of shopping in the town center while me and my Dad journeyed to Burton waters but 1st we had to navigate the bridge with Stokes cafe above us.

It was a very tight squeeze and the arches are crooked so we had to kind a zig zag slightly to avoid any damage.
Any way when we got to Burton waters we visited a chandlers and the 1st this i asked for was "Can i buy a barge pole?"

The guy then said we sell extendable sticks with a hook on end,
Then i said yea thats what i need, And then i say yes i have got a Barge pole, I said its a barge pole to me regardless what you say.
I then saw a digital speed display on the wall and it was around 1200 pounds.
I said I'm ok i don't need to buy that, because i got a App on my Ipad that tells me how many knots i am doing. and it was a free app.

we did buy a few more items of need and then got back to our boat and when we just left burton water we stalled just around the corner and was stuck in a bit of a drift, after some time we go one engine going just enough to get us back to Burton waters, To get 100 quids worth of red diesel in tank.
Then we made our way back to the brayford area.

As we struggled to get through the bridge at the Glory hole earlier,
This time my dad stood at the front of the boat, he stood there proud and ready to tackle anything.
But as he stood there holding the barge pole fully extended like a aboriginal warrior with his spear,
As i was shouting Duck and waving my hands to signal duck! he just waved back and smiled. I had already disabled any forward powered motion, and was just in a steady drift forward and still he smiles and stands there, the spear (bargepole) was higher than the bridge with the message: where are you going
He did duck down try and make out what i was saying! and that was good for him! Because that saved him.
The memory is stained in my mind like a video recording.
I guess its the sort of thing ya see in slapstick films.

Anyway when we did finally moor up in the Glory hole by the shopping centre.
We were not expecting the great response to the public, And it was here where we realised we had not just a boat, But a boat that was extremely Historical and so very unique.
Its Design and look was very special to its self.

There was a woman in her 40s just passing by in the morning and she was just on her way to work, And she recognised the Boat, she says she has not seen it about in years, She said the Framar has been to dunkirk,
Even though we can't prove it right now, she inspired us to research as much as we can. And in doing so we bonded with the boat even more.
We thought we were just getting a boat project, but after knowing what she was about we knew the History should not be forgotten.
She was used by the government at some parts of her life.
And survived the brunt of the WWII.
And been loved by many generations of owners.
When the boat was built by James Taylor It was built as a Gentleman's river cruiser.
So if we think back to them years when Framar Was about on the Thames 1937+, Then what people were ferried down the great river?

This Boat has seen enough of Neglect through time, And a Landlady in Boston By River Withem Lincolnshire, Told us was was silly to have brought the Framar as she has known it to have sunk 3 times in the past.

She didn't half scare us, But when we went back to our boat! moored up at Boston Boat Club,We decided we wont get depressed, we will not let the boat sink! As long as we can keep an eye on here and keep to a routine, we can keep this boat afloat.
Its normal for wooden built boats to take on water,
But Framar would take about 2 months before she sinks if the bilge pump was not activated .
Now we know how much the public love this Boat, I want to get skills so that i can make sure every Journey is a safe and happy Trip.
I hope that with help, This could be a great venture.
As i could Do Inspiration Trips for Artist or Photographers or for writing Inspiration.
In the Process of this Project, I can get myself out of living a disabled life.
It is hoped that i could hopefully bend my knees more to help my degenerating knee joints.

I hope to use the boat to help Inspire the local community, and maybe people will learn new skills, leading to better job Prospects or keeping them motivated.
We really need help to help us totally Restore this Boat.
When Completed, She could be used for all kinds of events, Weddings by the river, or Pirate and mermaid themed Picnic Parties. Ect.
All could create work for new local business.
Also get me into working once again.

The Framar Boats Future is the past

Welcome to our blog.

As we have had this boat recognized and registered fully with the national historical ships.

we have now found it in our hearts to return our little ship into to her originality.

As this boat was to aid me and motivate me, and offer me hope to get me away from the 5 years i have been disabled.

Also as my father was advised to early retirement due to illness,

I wanted my dad to experience the life on the waterways.

After last year as passed we have been told by many people that we are brave to take on such a venture,

As keeping a vessel original would be vastly costly.

Here is how the boat looks right now

In its history the boat, there are local talks that has sank a few times but was recovered.

This is possible if the Boat is left unattended for about 2 months.

Its normal for the boat to take on water, But its rate is so low that at the moment is not a worry.

Framar is a very sturdy boat a wonderful place for peace and clarity by nature.

We have bonded with this boat! so we want to prevent any chance of this boat becoming at risk with the elements.

And we are now looking for helpers to help maintain and restore this boat or even sponsorship.

When boat is fully restored any helpers or supporters will be welcome to celibate with a party.

And then you will always be welcome aboard for a picnic or a tea/coffee and chin wag.
